Correctional officers stop persons in custody fighting in Stanley Prison

     Correctional officers stopped a fight involving two persons in custody at Stanley Prison today (December 11).

     At about 9.20am, the officers found the two male persons in custody, aged 33 and 23, engaged in a quarrel that developed into a fist fight inside the workshop. The officers at scene stopped the fight immediately.

     The officers sent the two persons in custody to the centre hospital for medical examination. The 33-year-old person in custody sustained no injury while the 23-year-old person in custody sustained injuries on his face. He was later transferred to a public hospital for further treatment.

     The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.

     The two persons in custody were serving sentences for the offences of wounding and trafficking in dangerous drugs separately.
