Sick person in custody dies in public hospital

     A sick male person in custody from Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre died in a public hospital today (August 22).

     The 29-year-old person in custody with underlying illnesses had been admitted to public hospital four times this month. As his condition deteriorated yesterday (August 21), he was sent to a public hospital for further treatment. He was certified dead at 5.22pm today.

     The case has been reported to the Police. A death inquest will be held by the Coroner's Court.

     The person in custody was sentenced to imprisonment for possession of offensive weapon in public place.
