Correctional officers seize suspected dangerous drugs and small amount of cash

     Correctional officers seized a small amount of cash in a laundry workshop and three pills of suspected dangerous drugs in a government vehicle during a searching operation in Tai Lam Correctional Institution at about 9.30am today (October 18). The vehicle had been used to transport persons in custody to attend court hearings.

     The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.

     A spokesperson for the Correctional Services Department said, "The department takes every measure to stop the introduction of dangerous drugs or unauthorised articles into correctional institutions in order to maintain good order and discipline as well as maintain a drug-free environment for all persons in its custody."
