Correctional officers intercept smuggling of suspected dangerous drugs into institution

     Correctional officers at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre seized a small quantity of suspected dangerous drugs from the personal property of a recalled person who has breached the supervision order today (November 8).

     During reception procedure upon admission to the reception centre at 11.50am, officers found a quantity of white powder suspected to be dangerous drugs inside a small transparent plastic bag in the wallet of the 21-year-old male recalled person.

     The case has been reported to the Police.

     A spokesperson for the Correctional Services Department said, "The department takes every measure to stop the introduction of dangerous drugs or unauthorised articles into correctional institutions in order to maintain good order and discipline in a drug-free environment for all people in its custody."
