Assault by person in custody on another in Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre

     A male person in custody assaulted another person in custody in Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre today (June 5).

     At 10.32am, officers on duty noticed a 54-year-old person in custody sustained face injury in the observation ward of the centre hospital. After investigation, it was found that he had been punched earlier by another 35-year-old person in custody.

     The victim, after received medical examination and treatment by the medical officer, was transferred to a public hospital for further examination and treatment. The assailant sustained no injuries.

     The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.

     Both the assailant and victim were sentenced to imprisonment for the offences of theft.
