Sick person in custody dies in public hospital

     A sick 89-year-old male person in custody at Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre died in a public hospital today (August 23).

     The person in custody was sentenced for the offence of manslaughter in August 2014. He suffered from cancer and required continuous medical care and follow-up. He was sent to a public hospital for treatment on July 8 this year. During his stay in hospital, his condition deteriorated and he was certified dead at 4.47am today.

     The case has been reported to the Police. A death inquest will be held by the Coroner's Court.
