Person in custody snatches OC foam from correctional officer at Shek Pik Prison

     A 25-year-old male person in custody snatched the OC Foam from a correctional officer at Shek Pik Prison today (October 6).

     At 4.10pm, when the person in custody was having routine exercise in the exercise yard, he suddenly snatched from behind the OC Foam attached to the waist of a correctional officer. He was immediately subdued by the correctional officer. Both the correctional officer and the person in custody sustained minor injuries, but did not need to be sent to public hospital after treatment provided by the medical officer at the centre hospital.

     The Correctional Services Department has referred the incident to the Police for investigation.

     The person in custody was sentenced for the offence of robbery.
