Certificate presentation ceremony at TLCI

A certificate presentation ceremony was held at Tai Lam Correctional Institution (TLCI) today (January 30).

Twenty-nine inmates were presented certificates from Chairman of the Care of Rehabilitated Offenders Association, Mr Martin Hong. They were awarded a total of 51 certificates, which included Forklift Truck Operator Course; Mandatory Safety Training Course for Container Handling Industry; Intermediate Trade Test for Concretor and Cleaning Skills & Pest Control Training Course.

The Correctional Services Department has been strengthens the  pre-release vocational training for adult offenders by launching market-oriented vocational training courses. The training helps upgrade their competence in the labour market and their re-integration into the society after release. They can also support themselves by their own efforts, thus at the end reduce the risk of reoffending.
