Death of LCKRC remand

 

A 34-year-old remand was found unconscious in the Centre Hospital of Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre (LCKRC) by staff at 3.36am today  (April 6). 
 
First aid was immediately given at the scene. The remand was then taken to Princess Margaret Hospital and was certified dead shortly after 4am. Records showed that he had a history of drug abuse.

The remand, surnamed Cronje, was admitted to LCKRC on March 30 on a charge of trafficking in a dangerous drug. On April 4, he was assessed by the Medical Officer and admitted into the Centre Hospital for medical observation.

Police have been informed of the incident. An inquest will be held by the Coroner's Court.
