Tai Lam Centre for Women inmate on remand found dead

 

     A 42-year-old female inmate on remand of Tai Lam Centre for Women (TLCW) was found collapse in her cell by correctional staff at 3.11pm today (July 26).

     First aid was immediately given at the scene. The inmate on remand was then sent to Tuen Mun Hospital, where she was certified dead at 4.06pm.

     The case was reported to the police and her family was informed. An inquest into the inmate's death will be held by the Coroner's Court.

     The inmate, surnamed Fan, was admitted to TLCW on July 25 on a charge of common assault.
