The 3rd Chinese Calligraphy Competition for Inmates

The Correctional Services Department held the Chinese calligraphy competition for inmates today (March 16) at Lai King Correctional Institution. A total of 583 inmates took part in the competition on "Dao Te Ching" calligraphy in 18 correctional institutions at the same time.

The department first organised the Dao Te Ching calligraphy competition for inmates with Tung Sin Tan in 2009, aiming to encourage inmates to make good use of their spare time in developing various interests, such as Chinese calligraphy.

The support of the Hong Kong Taoist Association and Tung Sin Tan has enabled the competition to be held for the third time this year. Picture shows inmates at Lai King Correctional Institution taking part in the calligraphy competition.
