CSD staff detect escape plot by inmate

    

     Staff of the Correctional Services Department (CSD) detected an escape plot by an inmate on remand at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre today (July 27).

     Acting on intelligence, the 21-year-old male inmate was found conveying to two female visitors of his plot to escape during the medical appointment at a government hospital.

     CSD and the Police conducted a joint operation and subsequently arrested three women and a man at the government hospital, including the two female visitors.

     The inmate was admitted to the Reception Centre for trafficking in dangerous drugs.
