Man harms himself near TLCI staff quarters area

     A man harmed himself by cutting both of his wrists and his right ankle with a cutter near the Staff Married Quarters Area of Tai Lam Correctional Institution today (May 8).

      The 43-year-old man, who had earlier claimed to use the access to get to the nearby country park, was found bleeding with a cutter at around 9am at the bottom of a hill slope near the quarters area. Correctional officers called for reinforcement immediately. First aid treatment was rendered by the institution's medical staff at the scene. He was conscious and was sent to a public hospital afterwards for treatment.

      The case was reported to the Police for investigation.
