Correctional officers stop fight between remand inmates

     Correctional officers stopped a fight between two remand inmates at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre today (May 10).

      At about 7.40am, two male inmates, aged 24 and 27, were found fighting with their fists and were stopped and separated by officers on the spot immediately.

      Both were conscious, suffering injuries to the nose and forehead respectively in the incident. They were taken to the centre hospital for medical examination and treatment. The 24-year-old inmate was later sent to a public hospital for further observation and treatment.

      The case was reported to the Police for follow-up action.

      The 24-year-old is remanded for an offence of trafficking in a dangerous drug, while the 27-year-old is remanded for robbery.
