poster Our professional team of correctional officers comprises well-trained, highly-motivated and well-disciplined members. The Department carefully selects qualified candidates who have deeply aspired to a career in correctional services through stringent recruitment process.

The Department provides comprehensive training for all new recruits to enable them to acquire the most up-to-date operational and management knowledge as well as professional competencies required in the course of duty. The Department also provides special training for qualified staff or staff with potential to enable them to perform specialised duties such as aftercare, welfare, nursing, psychological services, physical education and escort duties, etc.

The Department facilitates career development of officers through continuous training, the posting arrangement and performance appraisal system. There are good promotion prospects for dedicated and diligent officers who have passed the departmental qualifying examinations.
