A female person in custody attacked correctional staff at Tai Lam Centre for Women last night (December 3), causing injuries to two officers.
At about 7.06pm, the 24-year-old person in custody refused to co-operate with correctional staff during a routine search. She suddenly turned emotionally unstable and hit the face of a staff member with her fist. The officers at the scene ordered her to stop but this was in vain and they had to subdue her eventually. During the course of action, another officer sustained minor hand injury.
The two injured officers were treated in the centre's hospital. One of them was subsequently transferred to a public hospital for further examination and treatment.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The assailant was remanded for the offence of possession of a dangerous drug.
