Correctional officers intercept smuggling of suspected dangerous drugs into institution

     Correctional officers at the visitor registration room of Shek Pik Prison seized a small pack of suspected dangerous drugs inside a book brought by a male visitor during a security check at 11.18am today (September 27). He intended to hand in the book to a person in custody after the visit.

     Correctional Services Department immediately referred the case to the Police for further investigation.

     A spokesperson for the Correctional Services Department said, "The department takes every measure to stop the introduction of dangerous drugs into correctional institutions in order to maintain good order and discipline in a drug-free environment for all people in its custody."
