A Correctional Services Department (CSD) spokesman today (August 4) said that the department is now recruiting for the post of Assistant Officer II. Those interested are advised to submit their applications as soon as possible.
The CSD plans to recruit at least 300 Assistant Officers II to fill the vacancies in this fiscal year. The entry salary is $18,670 to $19,780 per month. Individuals who meet the entry requirements and are interested in joining the correctional profession to serve the community may submit their applications online, by post or in person on or before August 22. Relevant details of the post and the application methods are available on the CSD website ( www.csd.gov.hk/english/recruit/recruit_vacancy/other_car_vac.html ).
Noting that, according to past experience, most applicants submitted their applications online a day or two before the deadline, the spokesman advised applicants to submit their applications as early as possible to avoid congestion.
Eligible applicants will undergo a selection process involving a Physical Fitness Test, a Group Interview, an Aptitude Test, a Basic Law Test and a Final Interview. In the previous recruitment exercise, around 40 per cent of applicants who attended the Physical Fitness Test failed to pass all components. Candidates are therefore reminded to improve their physical fitness for better chances of success. They can make reference to the standards and demonstration videos of each fitness test component via the CSD website ("Recruitment" > "About CSD Post" > "Details of CSD Post" > "Assistant Officer II" > "Recruitment Procedures" > "Physical Fitness Test") for early preparation.
