CSD video "Long Road and Hearts of Parents" tells story of Ah Yuen

The period after Lunar New Year provides a good opportunity to plan ahead for the coming year. For 21-year-old Ah Yuen (false name), who has been serving a custodial sentence at Cape Collinson Correctional Institution, March 6 (Tuesday) offers the chance for him to make a fresh start because it marks the end of his sentence.

For his parents, they will no longer need to make a long journey to visit their son in the correctional institution.

The Correctional Services Department (CSD) today (March 4) released a video about Ah Yuen, who was sentenced to imprisonment for drug trafficking. With the encouragement of his parents, he is now back on track.

Ah Yuen recalls that he always went hiking with his parents before entering custody, and he decided to join Trailwalker to challenge himself. During the walk, his teammates worried that the skinny Ah Yuen would give up halfway. But he remembered the support of his parents and was determined to prove himself. He persevered and finally completed the 100-kilometre hike.

Members of the public are invited to watch the video about Ah Yuen, which has been uploaded onto the CSD YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/user/hongkongcsd.
