Correctional officers stop person in custody attacking staff

     Correctional officers at Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre stopped a male remand person in custody attacking staff today (May 24).

     ​At 9.13am today, a 42-year-old male remand person in custody suddenly became emotional and attacked a correctional officer with his hands inside the cell. Officers at the scene immediately stopped the assailant.

     During the incident, both the officer being attacked and the assailant did not sustain any injury.

     The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.

     The assailant was remanded in Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre for the offence of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
