Inmate attacks officer at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre

     A remand male inmate at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre attacked an officer of the Correctional Services Department today (January 23).

      At about 4.30pm, the officer turned down a request made by the 25-year-old inmate asking for additional milk tea during meal issue. The inmate then turned emotional and splashed a cup of milk tea onto the officer. The other officers present stopped him immediately.

      Both the officer and the inmate were taken to the centre hospital for examination. They did not sustain injury.

      The case has been reported to the Police.

      The man was remanded for the offence of trafficking in dangerous drugs.
