Sick inmate dies in public hospital

     A sick inmate from Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre died in a public hospital today (April 14).

     The 41-year-old male inmate reported sick when he was convicted on March 1 and was subsequently sent to a public hospital for treatment. He was certified dead at 3.15am today.

     The case has been reported to the Police.  A death inquest will be held by the Coroner's Court.

     The inmate was sentenced to imprisonment of 20 months for breach of a deportation order.
