Remand inmate injured at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre

     A remand inmate attacked and injured another remand inmate at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre (LCKRC) today (April 19).

      A quarrel broke out between the two male remand inmates at about 11.20am. A 29-year-old inmate suddenly punched another 32-year-old inmate in the face. Staff at the scene immediately stopped and separated them.

      The victim sustained an injury to his face while the assailant hurt his hand during the incident. Both were taken to the centre's hospital for medical treatment and were later transferred to a public hospital.

      The case was reported to the Police for investigation.
     
      Both were remanded for offences of trafficking in dangerous drugs.
