Correctional officers intercept smuggling of suspected dangerous drugs into reception centre

Correctional officers seized a quantity of suspected dangerous drugs from a male supervisee who had been recalled for breach of Supervision Order at Lai Chi Kok Reception Centre today (July 30).

The case was reported to the Police for investigation.

A spokesperson for the department said, "The department takes every measure to stop the introduction of dangerous drugs or unauthorised articles into correctional institutions in order to maintain good order and discipline in a drug-free environment for all people in its custody."
