HKCSD Official Visit e-Booking Service

The Correctional Services Department is now launching the Official Visit e-Booking Service at all correctional facilities#. You can make appointments for official visit during office hours through our Official Visit e-Booking Service website. Here are the highlights of the Official Visit e-Booking Service:

#Official visit e-Booking service is applicable to government officials and legal personnel, i.e. Solicitors, Counsel, Trainee Solicitors, Registered Foreign Lawyers and Authorised Solicitors’ Clerks, on the prescribed lists under the Law Society of Hong Kong or the Hong Kong Bar Association.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

  1. When can I make an appointment?
    The Official Visit e-Booking Service is available 24-hours a day. If you wish to make a new booking or reschedule a booking, it has to be made on or before 1630 hours of the preceding day of the appointment. Subject to the availability of quota, Official Visit e-Booking Service can make advance booking up to 7 days (Subject to the visiting hours of official visit of each correctional facility. For details, please refer to the website information of individual correctional facilities).
     
  2. What if the appointment booking quota on the date I prefer has already been filled?
    If the quota for your preferred day has been filled, you can make an appointment on another day. Quota of the 8th day will be released after 0830 hours on the next day. Besides, there are limited walk-in quotas at institution. Subject to the availability of quota, you may register at the Visit Room of institution in person for a walk-in quota.
     
  3. What should I do if I want to change an appointment?
    Before the appointment has been confirmed and subject to the availability of quota, you can change the appointed time slot on the same day. After the appointment has been confirmed, the appointment cannot be changed.
     
  4. What should I do if I cannot attend the scheduled appointment at the Visit Room of institution?
    If you are unable to attend the scheduled appointment at the Visit Room of institution, you should change or cancel the booking at least one day before the scheduled date so that the reserved time slot can be released for use by other applicants.
     
  5. How can I find out whether the appointment is successful?
    A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you for all successful appointments. Besides, you can use 'Update or Cancel Booking' to search for your appointment booking.
     
  6. What “proofing document” is required for account registration?
    Staff card issued by organization (for example, The Law Society of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Bar Association etc) or authorization letter issued by organization is required as proofing document for the account registration.
     
  7. Why does the system indicating that “Login Failed. Duplicate login” while I am trying to login the system?
    To ensure users can use Official Visit e-Booking Service fairly, users cannot repeatedly login the system at the same time.
     
  8. Does Official Visit e-Booking Service support operating system (OS) platforms on mobile devices?
    The Official Visit e-Booking Service not only supports systems in desktop computers but also two most commonly-used mobile OS platforms, iOS and Android OS. The Official Visit e-Booking Service also supports using in tablet devices.
     
  9. What should I do if I forget my login password?
    If you forget your login password, you can simply click ‘Forget password’ and input your registered e-mail address. A new password will be sent to your registered e-mail address immediately.
     
  10. Is there any requirement for the password format?
    The password should contain mixed-case alphabetic characters, numerals and special characters with a length from 8 to 16 characters. New password will be expired after 90 days and cannot be identical to the previous 8 passwords.
     
  11. What should I do if I forget my registered e-mail address?
    If you forget your registered e-mail address, you should send an e-mail to email@csd.gov.hk for enquiry.
     
  12. How do I confirm whether my application to reserve visit facility is successful?
    An email to acknowledge the reserve application and notify the application status will be sent to users’ registered email account automatically once application is submitted. Another reminder email will be sent to the users before one working day of the reservation. If users do not receive the reminder email, please check junk mails box or contact duty staff of Visit Room.
     
  13. What is the consequence for absence?
    To make effective use of resources, registered user of confirmed booking of official visit being absent for 2 times will be subject to account suspension for 7 days; and account suspension for 14 days for each absence thereafter. The accumulated record(s) of absence will be written off if there is no absence record for 6 months.
